Future of Education Technology Conference Reveals Inspiring Mega Sessions for New Orleans Event

Mega Sessions will motivate educators and guide them in discovering the latest education technology to utilize in their own school districts.

PALM BEACH GARDENS, Fla. – November 15, 2022 – The Future of Education Technology® Conference (FETC®), an intensive, highly collaborative exploration of new technologies, best practices and pressing issues, announced captivating Mega Sessions lead by inspirational speakers and technology leaders for the in-person event taking place January 23 – 26 at the Ernest N. Morial Convention Center in New Orleans.

These Mega Sessions will give attendees the tools they need to enhance their ed tech knowledge:

  • How Non-Academics Play a Crucial Role in Academic Outcomes for Students: With a panel featuring NFL Hall-of-Famer Mike Singletary, and Shmoop CEO Andy Rahden, moderated by Shmoop COO Mike Soldan, attendees will discover how the portions of the brain that support academic learning, memory building, ability to focus, and ability to maintain attention and develop skills are connected to the portions of the brain that impact our emotions, and find out how to empower students with the ability to identify aspects that impact their academics.
  • Immediate Action Items for Staff Exhaustion and Career Burnout: Dr. Christopher Jenson, Senior Health Advisor for Generation Esports, will share his experience as an emergency medicine physician and high school teacher to help attendees develop effective strategies for mitigating career exhaustion and burnout.
  • Teaching in the Metaverse: Brett Salakas, #aussieED founder,will give attendees a clearer understanding of the metaverse as he explores three key concepts and examines how to best prepare schools and educators to meet the new opportunities that technological advancements have created.
  • UnDisruptED Live! Creating Inclusive Leadership Cultures: Dr. Adam Phyall III, Director of Technology and Media Services of Newton County School System, and Carl Hooker, Educational Consultant & Speaker with HookerTech LLC, willinvite the audience to participate in a live recording of the “UnDisruptED” podcast while the co-hosts debate questions and topics around education, equity, learning, technology and change.
